New Delhi: On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, banks in Maharashtra will remain closed today as per the RBI’s Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act. However, banking services in other cities across India will continue as usual.

Bank Holidays in February 2025
Throughout February 2025, banks across the country will observe a total of 14 days of closure, including local holidays and weekends. While branches may be closed, mobile and internet banking services will not be affected and will continue uninterrupted.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a detailed bank holiday calendar for February 2025, specifying the days and regions when banks will be closed.

It’s important to note that the closures are not consistent across all states or regions. For example, while banks will be closed for the Loosong/Namsoong festival in Aizawl and Gangtok, other states will not observe this holiday. The RBI list also includes details about regional holidays affecting bank operations.

  • Lui-Ngai-Ni: February 15 (Imphal)
  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti: February 19 (Belapur, Mumbai, Nagpur)
