India’s Got Latent: Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija to Attend NCW Hearing Virtually; No Response from Ranveer Allahbadia

India’s Got Latent: NCW Summons YouTubers

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned YouTubers Samay Raina and Apoorva Makhija, along with others, to appear via video conference. Their virtual attendance was approved after controversial comments made on India’s Got Latent.

The NCW issued summons to the creators, including Ranveer Allahbadia, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, and Saurabh Bothra. The women’s panel raised concerns about the offensive nature of their remarks.

The controversy began when Ranveer Allahbadia, a popular YouTuber, asked an inappropriate question during the show. His remark quickly went viral, leading to massive public outrage.

Allahbadia’s comment, asking a contestant to choose between watching their parents have sex or participating once, sparked backlash. The offensive nature of the statement drew widespread condemnation on social media.

The NCW highlighted how such comments violated the dignity and respect of individuals, especially in a society that values equality. Their statement condemned the vulgar language used by the creators.

The controversy escalated further when FIRs were registered. The Guwahati Police filed charges against Samay Raina, Allahbadia, and others under various sections of the law.

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell also registered an FIR against more than 30 people connected to the show. Legal action intensified as the public demanded accountability.

In addition to the FIRs, a complaint was filed in the Bandra Magistrate Court. The complaint called for stricter action against those involved in making derogatory comments on the show.

The controversy has sparked discussions about the responsibility of creators in online content. It has raised important questions about the impact of crude remarks and their legal consequences.

The NCW’s summons have made it clear that such offensive behavior will not be tolerated, setting a precedent for accountability in digital content creation.
