Next Steps in the Recruitment Process:
Following the announcement of the results, the next phase of the recruitment process for Group 1 will begin. This will include document verification and interviews. Candidates can expect further updates regarding the results for Group 2, Group 3, and other categories in the upcoming days.
Protests and Legal Proceedings:
Earlier, candidates had expressed concerns and protested against a government order that sought to reschedule the examinations, arguing that it would adversely affect Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and backward classes under the reservation provisions. Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal approached the Supreme Court, stating that aspirants would lose the opportunity to sit for the exam, which was being conducted for the first time in the state.
The Supreme Court, however, declined to stay the exam, citing the potential for chaos if the exam was postponed at such a late stage. The bench, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, made it clear that halting the exam would lead to significant disruptions, especially given the exam was scheduled to begin shortly.
